Muscle cars: the Kings of the Road
According to Muscle Cars, the quid recorded by Peter Henshaw, a muscle car is precisely what the name suggests. It is a yield of the American automotive manufacturing adhering to the hot rodder’s philosophy of taking a little car and putting a huge engine in it. The Muscle Car is Charles Atlas kicking sand in the face of the 98 horsepower weakling.
Henshaw moreover affirms that the muscle car was designed for straight-line rapidity, and did not own the sophisticated chassis, engineering integrity, or lithe appearance of European high-performance sport cars. Yet, judgments differ as to whether high-performance full-size vehicles, compacts, and pony cars qualify as muscle cars.
